Backyard Waterfall
The gentle sound of water running over rocks is amazingly comforting!
Amazingly comforting… Amazingly… ... Did I already say amazingly comforting? ...ah...
Joan (my wife) suggested we put a pond in the backyard a couple of years ago and this year I decided it was time to “getter done”.
I took a few weeks, well actually months… to plan the layout, changing the plan several times, listening to nursery experts and reading on the internet and talking to other people about the idea.
The final product is a pondless waterfall because of the limited space and the maintenance required for a pond.
Finally the day came. In truth it ended up being 3 weekends.
Electrical, ...mud slinging (the friendly kind), ...carrying 250 lb rocks, ...and putting it all together!
I have to thank my soon to be son-in-law, JP, for his help. You’ve got to love 30 year old guys with a pick up truck that are all muscle when there are 250lb rocks to move!
Also my buddy Phil, who I can always count on, was there to help man handle the big rocks and to help arrange everything.
There will be some minor re-arranging and revising but all-in-all, it is a done deal. Yeah!
It was worth it. As I relax and let my muscles recover, listening to the bubbling water is very very very southing.
Oh and Joan… This is the happiest I have seen her react to any project I have taken on in years. Better than the deck, better than redecorating the living room, better than the flag stone walk ways, better than everything!
Check it out! There are a few pictures in the "Image Galleries (Projects)".
